New Alan Wake Game Confirmed, Out Fall 2011

Oskari Häkkinen ,head of the Alan Wake Franchise confirmed that the next Alan Wake project is not a sequel nor a new dlc. Yesterdays report of  AW 2 being spotted on an artists resume could mean it is in development but a new Alan Wake will be out before that. Oskari said:

"But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC."

My thoughts on this next installment are that it could be bridging gaps from the previous game as it may be a prequel. Also a continuation story is possible, similar to Assassin's Creed Brotherhood which is not Assassins Creed 3 but a continuation to Ezio's Storyline. I know to it's to early to play the guessing game but overall this is exciting news. Alan Wake had amazing storytelling but gameplay was a bit repetitive, I hope that changes. Oskari says that everyone can expect this next game to be out by Fall 2011.

Official Statement:

Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC. The rest we're saving for our official announcement when we'll actually SHOW YOU.
We are really excited about this project which a slice of our team has been working on for the last months. It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board.

We can't wait to show you more, bear with us. Release dates, platforms and pricing are unconfirmed as of yet, but Fall 2011 is probably a good guess. More coming soon!
